Students of Sri Sathya Sai University perform a Burra Katha on the Sacred Lives of Mother Easwaramma and Mother Karnam Subbama
June 14, 2009
The Santhana Dharma lays a lot of stress on the importance of the mother. The first programme of the new academic year was fittingly one in praise of the physical mother, nay, mothers of the Mother of Mothers, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Like Devaki and Yashoda of the Dwapara Yuga, Mothers Easwaramma and Karnam Subbama have had the unique blessing of being able to foster the Living Avatar of the age. Bhagawan blessed three Post Graduate students of His University to perform a Burra Katha on the sacred lives of Mother Easwaramma and Mother Karnam Subbama. The Burra Katha is a tradition programme of Andhra Pradesh which focuses on presenting serious matters in an easily understandable manner with a touch of humour. It consists of three artistes, one the Kathakudu( Story Teller), the Rajakiya (Political Analyst) and the Hasyaka (Humourist).
Right from ensuring that enough space is provided for the students to perform at ease to checking if their costumes where in order, Bhagwan was extremely involved with the programme. Being extremely pleased with the performance Bhagawan blessed all the participants including the 3 artists and the accompanying musicians with clothes and group photographs.
