Medicare Vans Seva
Reaching out to the masses with His Message of Love
Practising His precept…Love all Serve all
Is money the only thing in our life? Are we not tend to forget the beautiful world in which we live in, the beautiful creation around us, the gifts of nature, the nature itself, the wildlife, the beautiful children around us? Do we ever think of the hapless, downtrodden and the needy?
During His Valedictory Divine Discourse on the World Conference on Sathya Sai Education held in Prasanthi Nilayam recently, Bhagawan exhorted: You may have enough money; be ready to sacrifice; help the poor; carry on your life with the spirit of sacrifice which will redeem your life.
Man, in his effort to emulate the life and teachings of Bhagawan, practising His precept, My Life is My Message, devotees around the world under the auspices of Sathya Sai Service Organisation are constantly engaged in various service activities that promote human values, healthcare, educare and sociocare. Every segment of the society is well taken care of through various visionary projects by the Organisation that runs in short term as well as long term projects, strictly adhering to the guidelines given by Bhagawan Himself. …And every such initiative, irrespective of its size and stature, seeks His Divine Touch…Blessings.
Mumbai is supposedly India’s largest city and is considered as the economic hub of India. Even though ranked 10th among the world's biggest centres of commerce, the city is having another rare distinction in terms of population, fifth largest metropolitan in the world with an approximate nineteen million in its kitty.
On the 16th morning, two days after the Ashadi celebrations, the Maharashtra Sai Organisation had the privilege of getting a van blessed by Bhagawan just outside His Divine Abode at 8:30 a.m. This was one of the twelve vans pressed into service as a part of the ongoing efforts by the Mumbai Sai Organisation to provide better Medicare to the needy in inaccessible areas in the twelve districts in the city. These vans would serve as a mobile and preliminary diagnostic 'vehicles'! A novel idea, first initiated by the Sathya Sai Organisations, Tamil Nadu and rightly emulated by Maharashtra too. About 4-5 hospitals had agreed to give treatment free of cost to the tune of 1 hospital bed to the SSSO, Mumbai as a philanthropic measure and the medical vans would find the suffering needy to benefit from that gesture. The organisation would pay for the post operative care! A novel venture worthy to emulate. Read on the report received from Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation on the dedication ceremony held on 13th June 2008 in Mumbai.
Friday, June 13th, 2008, a red letter day in the history of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation of Maharashtra & Goa and especially for the city of Mumbai ,for though the monsoon rains had abated, the showers of Divine Grace poured profusely enabling one and all gathered at the Sachivalaya Gymkhana in the heart of the Metropolitan city of Mumbai to revel in the Divine experience of Bhagawan’s Omnipresence at the function of Dedication of 12 Mobile Medical Vans on Friday, 13th June, 2008 , a day blessed by Bhagawan Himself.

From reports received from the different districts where the mobile vans have reached their destinations in different parts of Maharashtra, it has been learnt that the medical vans have been received by the villagers with great agog and fanfare and the air was reverberating with loud cries of Jai Sai Ram! The villagers stopped the vans and performed mangalaarti to Bhagawan. Thus, enroute, crowds gathered in front of the mobile dispensaries and sang words of praise and glory of Bhagawan. In short, the atmosphere in the different districts of Maharashtra was one of festivity, marked with joy and love for our most Beloved Bhagawan.
All in Maharashtra, from the smallest to the biggest, express their heartfelt gratitude to Bhagawan for showering His Divine Grace and Blessings and helping to make the occasion an unforgettable one in the annals of Sathya Sai Rajya.
