Is Independent India still crying? Mother India, as she is hailed, is indeed bleeding tears, wailing for her children, to see them leading lives of values as established by the Ultimate Lord. Writing on the occasion of 64th Independence Day of India, Ms. Jullie Chaudhury shares Mother India's feeling, penning our bounden duty to wipe Mother India's tears to days of joy and happiness.

In the dead of night,
When all is surrounded,
By a deceptive outward calm,
Hidden in a corner,
Away from sight,
Hush, you can hear the Mother cry…

She sees her home break,
She sees her children fight each other,
Knowing so much was at stake,
Hush, you can hear the Mother cry…

So many dreams unfulfilled,
So many hopes uncaringly shattered,
So many lives uselessly stilled,
Hush, you can hear the Mother cry…

Her family lay fragmented,
Her faith dead,
As the ones who could build,
Goaded with vested interests,
Helped break instead,
Hush, you can hear the Mother cry…

So…Let us all come together,
Let us those tears wipe,
Let us our strength pick up and unite,
Let us the flame of harmony ignite,
Let us for oneness give a call,
Let us together in peace live,
Let not another tear fall,
Hush, let not the Mother cry…

The Lord is here,
The pleas of Mother India, Beloved Bhagwan does hear,
Exhorting us to live a simple life,
Bequeathing a treasure trove of values five,
Sathya, Dharma, Shanti,
Prema and Ahimsa,
Selfless living and Sacrifice,
Instilling virtue, removing vice,
Extricating India from the grip of the five ‘P’s,
Bringing harmony and peace,
Pollution, Population, Politics, Poaching and Poverty,
Practicing His teachings will set us free…

Leading us towards a world,
Where there is no struggle, no strife,
But where there is value for life,
Where the mighty respect the meek,
Where the physically challenged are not considered as freaks,
Where a brotherhood of man exists in everyone’s plan,
Where on kindness there is no secret ban,
Where people easily reach out to those in distress,
Where when you show your feelings,
You are more of a person, not less,
Where truth constantly flows,
Where you’re surrounded by friends not foes,
Where love prevails,
And women are respected,
Where no one questions your breed,
Where there is no bias on caste, colour or creed,
Where there is no begging for bread,
But a whole lot of sharing instead,
Where all living creatures are treated gently,
Where animals are not ill treated and caged,
Trees are not cut and birds are set free…

Of such a world there is a promise and a glimmer,
If our life becomes His message, this boon He will confer…

So…Let us all come together,
Let us those tears wipe,
Let us our strength pick up and unite,
Let us live out the human values five,
Let us the flame of harmony ignite,
Let us for oneness give a call,
Let us together in peace live,
Let not another tear fall,
Let us pause for a while,
Let us pledge to make the Mother smile,
Hush, let not the Mother cry…
