Educare also reveals
to us the tools essential for achieving self-transformation.
It stresses the importance of service before
spirituality and practice by oneself before preaching to others.
We must learn, within the framework of the Sathya Sai Organisation,
to practise the techniques of Educare: prayer, silent sitting,
Jyothi meditation, group singing, satsang, study circle, community
service without expectation of reward. An understanding of
the 'Soham Mantra' which proclaims the inherent divinity of
man is also essential. What is perhaps equally important is
a periodical process of self-audit which keeps asking the
question: To what extent have I travelled on the road to progress?
To sum up, the process of Educare
is the process of one's transformation during which the five
fundamental values are brought out from within and influence
all of one's thoughts, words and actions. The results of this
transformations are: recongnition of the Divinity in oneself
and in others, veneration of nature and all objects in creation
- animate or inanimate, unity of the head, heart and hands
and finally, merger with the Divine.
As Swami points out, at the end,
when transformation is achieved, you will find that you have
travelled only from youself to yourself with God all the while
in you, around you, with you and beside you. We are but sparks
of the divine and this realisation is true self-transformation.
It is said that God descends so
that Man may ascend.
To our great good fortune, we have the Sai Avatar
in our midst who now says: "Your life is My Message!"
Hence,
Educare must become as easy and natural as breathing
in our lives.
We must seek to practice the five fundamental human
values in thought, word, deed.
Then again, we must subject all our thoughts to
a constant process of review and correction.
We must realize that we too are Divine.
Once individual transformation takes place, societal
transformation and global peace and harmony become possible.
Are we prepared to discharge
this sacred responsibility?
